Hey, I’m diane

Becoming a parent has deepened my passion for family portraiture, as I want my daughters to see and remember me as I am now, preserving our family legacy.. Wild Sage Portraits, is dedicated to capturing the unique love and connection within families, helping you savor and preserve those precious memories through all stages of life.

about me.

I have been a wedding and portrait photographer in Chico, CA for over 14 years. I absolutely love to photograph weddings and I still do under my brand Diane Nicole Photography. Family Portraiture has taken on a whole new meaning to me since I became a parent. There is no other reason why I choose to put myself in front of the camera other than to exist in photos for my daughters. I want them to see me as I was when they were little. When they get older and have children of their own, I want to be part of their story and keep our family legacy alive by being preserved through creative and emotive imagery. My service is more to me then just pretty photos, it is my passion, my purpose and I want to share that gift with you and your family.

Being a photographer and then a mother I have experienced a whole new world of love and connection. The desire to capture the essence of that love and emotion we share together with our families is indescribable. I use that as fuel and inspiration when I photograph families. I want to help people tap into that beautiful and unique to you connection that only you and your family share.

From the time you chose to become parents, through the journey of parenthood and all stages of your families growth, Wild Sage Portraits will be here to help you Savor and Preserve those memories.

Where it all began

1998

I took my first darkroom class in high school and was immediately hooked! Growing up, I always asked my dad to buy film for our one little camera to capture holidays, and I was determined to learn how to use my mom's film camera.

2006

I finally took a step towards my passion by going to college, where I enrolled in a beginning darkroom class and once again I got hooked! Since then, I have never put my camera down.

2009

I graduated from Butte College with a degree in photography

2010

I started my business, Diane Nicole Photography, and photographed everything under the sun to build my skills and gain clients. This experience helped me grow as a photographer and establish my brand.

2020

When COVID hit and all my weddings were canceled, I had to pivot, leading to the creation of my family brand, Wild Sage Portraits. I've always wanted a business that represented my daughters, Sage, my second beautiful child, and Stella, my wild child who made me a mother. This brand is a tribute to them and the love and connection within our family.

2024

I officially opened the doors to my own photography studio, built on my home property. This marks a significant milestone in my journey as an entrepreneur. Wild Sage Portraits is not just a business; it's a heartfelt tribute to my daughters and the essence of family.

And today I am still helping you create your dream photographs.
